This 1958 graduate of Rock Falls High is truly one of the best all around athletes in school history. Gary earned varsity letters in football, basketball, baseball, and track during his four years at RFHS. He earned All-Conference in every sport and was an All-State football running back his Senior year. Gary also was a guard on the Runner-Up 1958 State basketball team.

After graduation Gary attended the University of Illinois where he lettered in football and baseball. After his Sophomore year Gary signed a pro baseball contract with the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed nearly a 10 year baseball career that also included playing wit hate Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Mets.
