Bob is a 1983 graduate of RFHS where he earned varsity letters in both basketball and cross-country. He was an All-NCIC performer in both his junior and senior seasons in basketball, leading the team in scoring both years. During his senior year Bob was also named to the First team Class AA All-State team as he averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Bob continued his career at Sauk Valley College where he was an All-conference performer.
